- A SEND leader
- A SEND coordinator
- An aspiring SEND leader / coordinator
What you will learn:
IPCSEND is designed to create SEND leaders in international education settings and to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to effectively enact the schools’ commitment to ensure that every individual child has an engaging and memorable learning experience that enables them to thrive and grow in an inclusive environment in which all are valued. The programme also seeks to provide these SEND leaders with the skills to grow all teachers as leaders of SEND in their own classrooms, departments or phases, thereby building capacity across the schools.
- Establish Confident Foundations as a SEND Leader in an International School Environment
Clarify your role, responsibilities, and personal identity as a SEND leader through guided reflection and engagement with core SEND frameworks, while setting ambitious aspirations and establishing a baseline for tracking your leadership growth throughout the programme. - Cultivate an Inclusive School Culture
Develop a shared vision of inclusion for your school and collaborate effectively with other school leaders and staff to visibly embed inclusion in school life. Capture meaningful pupil voice to shape engaging and memorable learning experiences, build strong home-school partnerships with parents, and model inclusive leadership that influences the entire school community from a student’s first entry point. - Lead High-quality Inclusive Pedagogy and Practice
Master evidence-informed universal teaching strategies to lead inclusive pedagogy at three tiers of support: high-quality teaching, targeted support, and specialist support. Identify strengths and weaknesses in inclusive pedagogy and practice in your school. Lead and support others in improving inclusive teaching practices through a strategic SEND action plan. - Drive Strategic Change in SEND Practice and Provision
Critically evaluate and select appropriate change management models to address your setting's unique context, then apply them to prioritise improvements, develop robust action plans, lead effective implementation, and monitor ongoing progress—ensuring lasting, impactful advancements in inclusive education across the school. - Design and Lead Effective Professional Development to Build School-Wide SEND Capacity
Audit staff needs, prioritise strategic SEND improvement areas informed by programme insights, select and implement proven CPD models, and apply structured leadership cycles to foster continuous growth in inclusive teaching—while reflecting deeply on your own development as a capable SEND leader equipped for sustained influence. - Demonstrate Tangible Impact Through a Leadership-for-Change Project
Implement a leadership project with a specific SEND focus of your choice, showcasing a clear evidence-based rationale, targeted strategies, collaborative approaches, and measurable impact on staff’s inclusive practice and pupils’ experiences in your school.
