In partnership with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), AISL Foundation hosted an Education Dialogue in Hong Kong, bringing leaders together to explore AI, innovation, and societal change.
We are delighted to share that the AISL Foundation hosted 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙪𝙚 with The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on 9 September 2025 at the Hong Kong Club. The evening brought together over 60 distinguished leaders from academia, industry and the AISL Harrow Schools community across Hong Kong and Shenzhen Qianhai to explore the vital interplay of education, AI, and societal transformation.
Under the theme ‘AI, Future Technologies, and Changing Society’, Professor Larry Kramer, LSE’s President and Vice-Chancellor, inspired us with LSE’s mission: “To educate them to go out in the world and make a difference for the better and to do something good.” He further reflected on AI’s potential: “For us, it’s really a chance to think hard about how does that work? What are we going to do with it? How can we make that part of our pupils’ education in ways that empower them to do something more.”
Professor Emma McCoy, Vice-President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education), added profound insights, quoting Isaac Asimov: “The saddest aspect of life right now is that technology gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.” She highlighted universities’ role: “Universities are the route to independent adulthood. They provide the space for pupils to transform, to form their identities, to crystallise their views,” and hoped “our pupils leave with the desire to keep learning throughout their lives.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professors Kramer and McCoy, and LSE, for their enlightening contributions. This Dialogue reinforces our commitment to empowering future generations with wisdom and vision.
